The Ultimate Blow Dry Bristol

Maintaining the Salon Fresh Look at Home

Here are our tips to maintianing your Blow Dry Bristol.

Tip #1

The better condition your hair is in, the easier it’ll be to maintain that ‘just stepped out of the salon’ look. Nourished hair will ensure you get a sleek finish that lasts for days, so it’s a great idea to treat your hair to a deep conditioning treatment about once a week.  While straighteners, curling tongs and hair dryers are great everyday fixes, daily exposure to high temperatures can leave your strands looking stressed and feeling parched. This is one of the reasons a salon blow dry is such a great treat; you get a beautiful ‘do that can last for days, and your hair gets a break from those GHD’s!

Tip #2

To help your blow dry survive the night (and give you an extra thirty minutes snooze in the morning!) we recommend loosely twisting your hair into a bun, and securing it with a few kirby grips. Anything too tight will leave you waking up to kinks, so avoid hair ties and claw grips! To make sure your hair stays extra sleek, a silk pillowcase will stop frizz by reducing friction overnight. Silk is woven more closely together than cotton and other man-made materials, which means your hair is able to glide over the pillow without getting stuck in the fibres. When you wake up and undo your hair, you’ll have maintained that smooth look and voluminous bounce.

Tip #3

Dry shampoo is a great way to keep your blow-dry lasting that little bit longer. It can keep your hair looking clean and fresh even when you know it really needs a wash! Dry shampoo works by absorbing the extra oil and grease in your hair, so when using it you want to make sure you target the roots. Instead of spraying the dry shampoo directly at your parting, try gently lifting the top layer of your hair and spraying underneath. This will avoid the dreaded white residue and give you an extra volume boost. Another way to ensure you don’t get any white buildup is to make sure you hold the aerosol can about 6 inches away from your scalp. A quick spritz of dry shampoo is the perfect hassle free way to keep that blow-dry looking salon perfect for another day.
